After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1999, Derek's journey has taken him around the globe, both personally and professionally. With an eight-year career in the NFL as a player for the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks, he gained invaluable experience that laid the foundation for his diverse career.
Following his retirement from football, Derek transitioned into sports broadcasting, rising through the ranks from high school and local studio shows to calling prime-time college and NFL games. His professional journey has also included ventures into real estate, financial services with Morgan Stanley, and entrepreneurship, most notably owning a physical fitness facility named AMRACK Fitness in Buford, Ga—earning “Best of Gwinnett” honors for eight-straight years!
Currently, Derek leverages his broad expertise to assist clients with wealth management, lead seminars, and drive marketing and business development initiatives. Their mission is clear: to prepare and educate clients to live out their life’s purpose by design and to help them develop confidence.
Outside of work, Derek is deeply committed to his family, particularly coaching and supporting his two daughters in their athletic pursuits. Together with his wife of 20 years, Lisa, they enjoy family vacations with no schedule or agenda so they can truly relax.
Derek stays active by working out, playing golf and tennis, and recently dabbling in pickleball. He rarely turns down an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing meal with friends!
